Last October, when we had a few hours stop-over on our way back from America we came into town at 8 am on a grey drizzly day. A few people were hurrying to work on the walkways. All in all it appeared a bit unwelcoming. The city looks so different when looking at your sunny pictures taken during somewhen during midday :-) I love the bike hanging half over bridge, the guy sitting in the window, the bunch of cyclist crossing the other bridge. It's so typical for Holland.
We were so lucky when we spent four days in Amsterdam in September.the first three days were lovely but the fourth day when we vvisited the flower market it became overcast. I think we saw the city at its best as everyone was enjoying the warm sunny weather.
